Children's Creative Workshop(CCW) was started in 1982 based on the belief that children love to learn in a dynamic, creative environment. Our curriculum is built on science, providing a fun and creative path to many topics, including marine life, local wildlife, birds, insects, gardens, Chumash and local history, geology and the 7 continents, solar system and more. Facts about these themes are presented through songs, games, arts & crafts, foods and preparation, hands on exploration, and simple indoor and outdoor play. We add in a short play based academic time daily, where children are introduced to letters, phonics and numbers using an age appropriate curriculum. 

The staff of CCW share a true love for children and desire to help them mature to their fullest potential. All instructors are qualified with training or credentials in Early Childhood Education.

MUSIC-ART-FUN

Music is a wonderful path to learning. CCW teachers have written numerous songs about tides, whales, local fish, the 7 Continents, photosynthesis, metamorphosis for starters! Kids love to act out and sing these songs, and they beam with delight when they grasp the concept through art projects and visuals that correspond.  We also introduce simple sewing, poetry, lots of cooking and food preparation, puppets and storytelling, song and story writing. 

   Outdoor play is essential and abundant at CCW. We love to ride tricycles, play outdoor games and sports, run laps around the park, ride stick horses and play dress up. We love our free play time and utilize our beautiful Point Dume Park outdoor environment extensively. 

Our Pre Kindergarten groups(Currently called TK in some schools) are more than ready to move into their Kindergarten class prepared to meet the expectations. They have  a head start in classroom manners as well as their reading and math skills! CCW students enter Kindergarten with confidence!
